being an exchange student in Auburn University

Introduction:

I am very lucky to have the opportunity for this exchange at Auburn University. I am really appreciated for Professor Hu help and support. It will be a very precious memory in my life.

History of Auburn:

Auburn University has developed into one of the largest universities in the South and has been listed as one of the top 50 public universities for 20 consecutive years. The university currently consists of thirteen schools and colleges. Programs in architecture, pharmacy, veterinary science, engineering, forestry, and business have been ranked among the best in the country.

Courses attended:

During this exchange period, I took four four courses. CFD, Conduction and Radiation Heat Transfer, Viscous Flow and Numerical Analysis. This was a very good experience. Professors usually give a lot of homework. But if you can understand all of these questions. The exam will not be the problem for you.

The other benefits is you can improve your English ability by communicating in English daily and joint English classes (ESL and tutor). ESL program offers courses in oral and written communication for international students.

Experiencing American culture:

1. Football

Fall semester is the football season. Almost every student and people in Auburn supports Auburn football team. Auburn was the champion in 1913, 1957 and 2010. When Auburn win the game, there is a tradition “rolling the trees” in Toomer’s Corner with toilet tissues.

2. Travel

Atlanta – the major city near Auburn. Driving two hour can arrive or you can take Groome. Atlanta attractions CNN, the Fox Theatre, the Georgia State Capitol, Centennial Olympic Park, Millennium Gate, the Canopy Walk, the Georgia Aquarium, The Phoenix statue, and the Midtown skyline.

Conclusions:        

Being an exchange student in Auburn University was a great experience in my life. Auburn University is the perfect school to go since Auburn is a safe college town and you can also feel the friendliness of Southern people. War Eagle!!
